Seat Managers play a key role in managing Group Orders within Adviser CE. This article explains what a Seat Manager is, how to access the Admin Dashboard as a Seat Manager, and how to manage seats, enrollments, and learners efficiently.
What is a Seat Manager?
Seat Managers are users responsible for managing Group Order purchases
This role provides access to a dedicated Admin Dashboard
Seat Managers can track:
Purchased seats
Claimed and unclaimed seats
Learner enrollment and activity
Dedicated Seat Manager Role & Dashboard
The Seat Manager role is automatically assigned to any user who completes a Group Order purchase
Once the purchase is successful:
The user gains access to the Admin Dashboard
The dashboard serves as a centralized hub for seat and learner management
Actionable Insights & Notifications
From the Admin Dashboard, Seat Managers can:
View:
Claimed and unclaimed seats
Enrollment history
Learner last login activity
Receive notifications when learners enroll, helping drive timely engagement
Buy More Seats Anytime
Seat Managers can easily purchase additional seats at any time
Additional seats can be bought directly from the Admin Dashboard for the same product
Seat Manager Permissions
Seat Managers have permission to:
View the number of seats:
Purchased
Claimed
Still available
Self-enroll in a seat
Buy additional seats as needed
Generate, retrieve, and share sign-up links (used by learners to enroll)
View detailed learner information, including:
Name
Email address
Date created/enrolled
Date last signed in
User role type
Enrollment status
Unenroll students from purchased products
Admin Dashboard for Seat Managers
The Admin Dashboard allows you to track and manage your Group Orders in one place.
From the dashboard, you can:
View products purchased through Group Orders
See:
Total seats purchased
Seats claimed
Seats still unclaimed
Share sign-up links with learners
Selecting Manage will take you to the Seat Management Table.
Seat Management Table
Within the Seat Management Table, you can:
View students who enrolled using the Group Order sign-up link
Review learner details and enrollment status
Share enrollment links again as needed
Purchase additional seats for the same product
How to Access the Admin Dashboard
Seat Managers are automatically directed to the Admin Dashboard when signing in. You can also access it by:
Clicking View Your Admin Dashboard at the bottom of your Student Dashboard
Clicking your name in the header and selecting the Admin option from the dropdown
Selecting the View My Admin Dashboard link from Group Order email notifications
Managing Seats
Seat Managers can manually manage purchased seats, including enrolling and unenrolling learners.
Manually Enroll Students
To manually enroll a student:
From the Admin Dashboard, locate the product you purchased
Click Manage
Click Enroll
Select Add User Individually
Enter the student’s information
Click Create and Enroll
The user will be created and enrolled, claiming one purchased seat.
Manually Unenroll Students
To manually unenroll a student:
From the Admin Dashboard, locate the product you purchased
Click Manage
Search for the student using the search bar
Click the three dots next to the student’s name
Select Unenroll
Confirm by clicking Unenroll
Important:
The student’s enrollment status will change to Expired
The student will no longer have access to the product
The seat cannot be reassigned, and the claimed seat count does not change
Bulk Enroll Students
Seat Managers can enroll multiple students at once using a file upload:
From the Admin Dashboard, locate the product you purchased
Click Manage
Click Enroll
Select Bulk Import with File
Download the provided template
Add student names and email addresses
Upload the completed CSV or XLSX file
Click Import
Once complete, users will be created and enrolled, claiming the purchased seats.
Seat Manager Notifications
Seat Managers will receive:
A purchase receipt showing:
Quantity of seats purchased
A link to the Admin Dashboard
An email notification when the first learner enrolls using the sign-up link
This notification is sent for the first claimed seat only
Important Considerations
Any user who has made a Group Order purchase is assigned the Seat Manager role
Seat Managers can only manage seats they personally purchased
When signing in, Seat Managers are automatically directed to the Admin Dashboard
Courses a Seat Manager is personally enrolled in can be accessed via the My Student Dashboard
The Admin Dashboard is currently available in English only
