Overview
Adviser CE courses are updated and offered in yearly editions. This article explains how courses differ from year to year, how credits are counted, and what to know before enrolling—especially if you have taken Adviser CE courses before.
How Adviser CE Courses Are Designed
Each Adviser CE course is created by certified professionals
Courses are designed for individual advisers as well as teams and firms
All courses are text-based and on-demand, allowing you to complete them at your own pace
Compliance & Credit Eligibility
Every Adviser CE course is fully compliant with NASAA requirements
Per NASAA guidelines, each course may only be completed once for credit
A course will only count toward CE credits one time, regardless of whether it is taken in the same year, or in a different year
Course Editions & Yearly Differences
Adviser CE courses are offered in different yearly editions, which are identified by the year listed in the course title
The year listed helps differentiate editions of courses
The year listed does not restrict you to completing the course only within that calendar year
Important:
Courses with different years listed are different courses
What Do "2025 Edition" and "2026 Edition" Mean?
They are simply labels showing the year a set of courses was released — "2025 Edition" refers to courses we released in 2025, and "2026 Edition" to courses released in 2026. We label each set this way so you can tell at a glance which courses are new and were not available in previous years, which matters because a course counts toward your requirement only once.
Can I Take a 2026 Course for My 2025 CE Requirements?
Yes. Every edition is approved and can be used to meet your CE credit requirements, regardless of the year in which you complete it. You are welcome to choose courses from one edition or from several to suit your needs. The year in the title identifies the edition; it is not a deadline and it does not restrict when you may complete the course.
Bundles vs. Individual Courses
Adviser CE offers:
12-credit bundles (6-credits of Products & Practices + 6-credits of Ethics & Professional Responsibility)
6-credit bundles
Individual courses
While these options share the same structure and learning experience, the courses themselves differ by edition and year. Credit eligibility is determined by the specific course edition, not the bundle type.
Do This Year's Courses Overlap With Last Year's?
No. Each yearly edition of our bundles contains entirely different courses — there is no overlap between the 2024, 2025, and 2026 editions. If you completed a bundle with us in a previous year, you can take the current year's bundle and every course in it will count toward your requirement.
Edition | Courses in the 12-credit bundle |
2026 | Professional Boundaries for Advisers · Fiduciary Duties and Obligations · Transparent Fees and Compensation Ethics · ETFs and Mutual Funds · Introduction to Behavioral Finance · Implementing Portfolio Risk Management |
2025 | Introduction to Investment Strategies · Code of Ethics · Overview of Retirement Accounts · Ethical Social Media Marketing · New Marketing Rule · Mastering Ethical Communication |
2024 | Annuity Fundamentals · Asset Allocation · Conflicts of Interest for Advisers · Ethics for Investment Advisers · Financial Advice for Seniors · Investing for Retirement · Marketing with Integrity |
The 6-credit Ethics & Professional Responsibility and Products & Practice bundles are drawn from the same per-year sets, so the same applies to them.
If you have taken individual courses with us before, review your dashboard before purchasing — that is where a repeat is possible.
Guidance for Returning Customers
If you have previously enrolled with Adviser CE:
Log in to your User Dashboard
Review your completed courses carefully
Make sure you do not register for the same course(s) you have already completed, as they will not count for additional credit
I Need to Prove I Completed a Course — Do I Have to Retake It?
No. This is a common reason people try to re-enroll in a course they have already passed, and retaking it is neither necessary nor useful — a repeat completion earns no additional IAR CE credit.
If your firm, a supervisor, or an audit requires evidence that you completed a course, download the certificate you already have:
Sign in and go to My Account → Certificates
Click View on the course in question
Download it as a PDF, or copy the shareable link
That certificate is the documentation to provide. It remains available after completion. If the name on it is wrong, you cannot edit it yourself — contact support and we will update it, then re-download it.
If you have already purchased a course you previously completed, contact us. A duplicate purchase of the same course is refundable, including after completion, provided both purchases are on the same account. If the second one is on a different account, contact us before completing it — once the same course has been completed on two accounts, both completions are reported to FINRA and the purchase is no longer refundable.
